Quote of the Month:
“Laughter is brightest where food is best.” ~ Irish proverb
Month in Review::
+ As we navigated the changes in our own working environment, based on directives from our leadership in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, March 2020 will be a memorable month for many reasons at Canada’s Smartest Kitchen and for those in our extended food network and product development community. Here are a few highlights from the month, that we are appreciative to have experienced:
+ CSK was pleased to participate in the Holland College #Next50 lunch and learn session in early March at the Prince of Wales Campus in Charlottetown that provided feedback on the Strategic Planning sessions held across the Island during the past year; hearing further details on the ‘Mission, Vision, and Values’ for the next strategic plan for the College, it is an exciting time to look forward to the future and the collaboration opportunities for education and research on PEI;
+ We revealed our updated ‘Sprout‘ website, CSK’s corporate social responsibility platform that details all the community activities that staff undertake with the public, including volunteer efforts, meetings with public and youth organizations, educational activities at the post-secondary and secondary level, and other outreach that our team participates in to give back to those in our region. We are so pleased to share our expertise and give back to the community through SPROUT: contact us at csk@hollandcollege.com if you are interested in connecting with CSK on future culinary and educational opportunities
+ As of March 18, CSK staff have transitioned to working remotely as Holland College moved to essential service delivery only at all campuses; staff have continued working diligently with clients, to expand upon projects and product research, and are committed to staying connected during this unprecedented time. We are here to meet your industry needs, and work collaboratively on food and/or beverage development ideas that you wish to develop. Contact us today to discuss the services we offer, as well as the variety of funding programs available across the country to support your business.
CSK Service Highlight: SENSORY & CONSUMER SCIENCE
You love your product, but does your customer? CSK sensory experts can conduct analysis with participant panels to provide insight on consumer preferences, testing your product against competitors or incorporating the testing as part of the iterative development process. This is just one of the many professional services offered by the Canada’s Smartest Kitchen team: We Know Food.
