Product Developer

Christopher Song is a University of Alberta Alumni with a major in Food Science and Technology. He has had wide experience in industry working for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Alberta Milk, Maple Leaf Foods, Hempco Superfood Inc and currently is a Food Product Developer at Canada’s Smartest Kitchen. Christopher has extensive knowledge in food safety and has his certification in BRCGS (Brand Recognition Compliance Global Standards).

During his tenure as a Research and Development Specialist, he has launched new food products which can be found on grocery shelves under the brand: Planet Hemp. He was part of the launch of a new product called Superseeds with Dark Chocolate and Superberries which won 2020 Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards.

He has also consulted for small businesses such as the Carrot Community Coffee house and Double Dutch Treats and Meats on food safety and recipe formulating. With Christopher’s diverse experience in the food industry, he is passionate about being a contributor to Canada’s agri-food economy.
