Mickhaelia has a background in science which she applies to produce innovative food products at Canada’s Smartest Kitchen. With a global education, Mickhaelia holds a Master’s in Science degree in Biotechnology from the University of Glasgow, UK; an Advanced Diploma in Food Science Technology (Co-Op) from Centennial College, and a BSc. in Animal Biology with Psychology from the University of the West Indies. Her educational background has facilitated her passion for developing new, safe, and nutritious food products to bring to market.
Along with her knowledge in food product development, Mickhaelia’s expertise in food production and quality assurance provides the added value to her clients through her experiences in technical processes and her knowledge of industry manufacturing standards. Through her work in the food industry, Mickhaelia has solved technical problems related to development and manufacturing; modified food products and processes which has led to formula validation, prototype development, and product stability. Mickhaelia’s enthusiasm for food and science drives her to continually create foods that people love.
