CSK partnered with the Holland College Varsity Athletics Department to facilitate three semi-structured focus group sessions which included healthy snack options during their breaks. Two groups of student athletes and one group of coaching staff participated.
The intent of the sessions was to gain qualitative, conversational data which in turn could be used to better understand eating habits of student athletes and determinants related to their skills when buying and preparing healthy food options. CSK also aimed to examine pressures coaches felt when it came to providing meals to athletes and working with them about food choices.
