A number of staff members from Canada’s Smartest Kitchen (CSK) participated in the regional Kelp Connector workshop last month in Halifax, Nova Scotia that was organized by our collaborative partners at the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Applied Research unit. CSK, NSCC and the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) have received two years of funding from NSERC to complete an ARTP project in regards to observation, cultivation, and innovation of the kelp (seaweed) industry in the Atlantic Canada region.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the public and community stakeholders to hear a review of the research and project objectives completed to date in Year 1 of the process, and to look ahead to Year 2 goals.
